Free Speech has always only been for those whose voices can reach the ears of others (for others it’s the freedom to speak irrelevantly). The only difference expressed by this piece is that people who used to sometimes be able to be heard (dissident professors) now cannot - welcome to the club - many of us have been here for decades or centuries.

Maybe if you’re able to regain the ears of others you’ll start looking around and finding others who have never reached the ears of others.
