If this guy was hoping to change the minds of any of the "99%" of the world who he claims oppose them, his approach leaves a lot to be desired.

- he associates himself with a group invoking socialism in its title
- he plays into Christofascist, anti-Muslim paranoia in portraying the resistance as part of a jihad
- he absolutely fails to point out the hypocrisy of American policy toward Iraq (supporting or at least tolerating Saddam for three decades, then claiming that removing him from power was a matter of national security)
- he absolutely fails to compare the Iraqi resistance to the French resistance, the American Revolution, or other "good" insurgencies that might resonate with a wider audience

He did deny any support from Iran, which is good (although it goes without saying that the US would hardly sit by passively if Canada or Mexico were occupied by a hostile military), but this kind of stupid rhetoric is the stuff of wet dreams for the neocons, their supporters, and the nationalist corporate media.

I'll predict here and now that Osama himself (or another fake) will appear in a video before the November elections re-declaring his jihad against the US, and probably even confessing to being involved in the Iraqi resistance. The left, lacking the courage to admit that the government might lie to its own people in order to achieve its ends, will be utterly incapable of countering the resurgence of anti-Arab propaganda that will follow.

This guy had all this time to say this "on the combat field" "while weapons were talking?" Definitely Ba'ath rhetoric, but whether or not this guy has any influence in the resistance is hard to say. It seems that a lot of the Sunni resistance (former officers in Hussein's old Army) broke with and formed new organizations because they came to hate Hussein and the Ba'ath party. See for example this article in which there is no mention of the Ba'ath:

addouri is wrong in his estimates. i still propose iraqi resist passsively. planners of US invasion of iraq r not dummies.
one can deduce that US war planners know that no occupator obtains a peaceful occupation let alone the kind that is gladhanded.
addouri may be right in predicting that military resistance will continue.
it may continue for decades but it will fail. partisan resistance had succeeded because so many lands and empires also fought germans.
had germans won the WW2, partisan resistance would have gone the way of the dodo bird.
iraqis have no friends that r able/willing to help iraqi fighters. in add'n, all of the christian world is against them.
then there is the oil. who controls it? it seems not the iraqi fighters.
thank u
