Onecansay, unless you're a Muslim living in a Muslim country, you and your country are no different. The Muslims are the only ones who refuse to surrender to the Chosen Ones. USA is subverted, as is Canada and all of Europe. China and India, as of yet, are not really so involved. They're not of the 'Judeo-Christian' persuasion.

Aha, broken into federated states. Well, this plan has been in the works since the end WW Won. The Rothschild's, Bilderberg's, and Rockefeller's are just laughing all the way to their controlled banks. Do they really care about someones religious fervor. Hell no, it is only a game to them and they care not who dies in the process. This entire planet is screwed up. We crapped on are just fodder in their chess game to which we serfs will never have a seat. This is not dissident voices I hear. All I gather is a bunch of narrow minded, short sighted talking heads with no balls to call it as it is. Must really suck to live in the USsr. I thought it was the US of A. Land of the brave, home of the free. BS. Your own government is screwing you and being used as a smoke screen for the aforementioned chess players. You have been neutered and your home has been sold out from under you; lock, stock and barrel. America was screwed from day one. You lost your freedom after the colonial conflict and subsequent indebtedness for that conflict for freedom to the British Empire. Thank the bankers and those who support such. They control through controlled warfare and later controlled reparations. They control the gold of the world, whatever flavor the gold is that day, decade, century, millennium. Get with the program!
Your children will be turning in their graves should you continue this tripe.

folks! US came to iraq not to lose; i.e., everything's going as SD (state department) wishes. resistance by iraqis will, i affrim, only harm their own people and their own cause. fact, is US hasn't lost a war yet. even in vietnam, US hadn't lost the war; US withdrew from 'nam because it was afraid to use nuclear weapons. US obviously feared retaliation by either SSSR or china . now.the situation s different.
in any case failure/success will be defined by SD and not hobos, et al.
why did partisans succeed and palestinians utterly failed? well, partisans had on their sides mighty empires; iraqis and palestinians have no one to help or defend them. thank you
thus, sooner or later iraqis must obey or bleed on an d on. thus i urge them to passively resist. passivity may not succeed either but is lot beter that killings. an d US cannot lose

Aha, I did see a reference to the Ayatollah Sistani.
The key to Sadr, and for all intent and purpose all of Iraq, is Sistani.
When Sistani says jump, Sadr simply asks how high.
That he keeps such a low profile speaks volumes.

Good piece, Ashley. I wonder as to how much the intra-Shia conflict can be portrayed as that and how much of it is an actual resistance to the puppet regime. The divisions based on religious beliefs between Sunni and Shia seem to be more religious in nature than those between Shia which seem to have a distinct class base. One wonders if religion will hold back a truly national resistance, despite the desires of those who want to transcend religion in favor of the Iraqi nation.
