I'm an individual who is STRONGLY against animal cruelty. I am also an individual who can usually see both sides to every story and RESPECT both sides. However, on reading this article and another few on 'trophy hunting' & the reasons for why people do it, I have realised very quickly that those who DO hunt animals for sport show a distinct lack of respect for those who care about animals-the ones who understand that they are not there for us to use & abuse. They disrespect us by making empty jokes; snigger at us, calling us weak & small-minded people. Why? Because we have the capacity to know what other living things feel? Because we know that they have families to feed, challenges to face, feel love and pain and fear just as we do? You would condemn serial killers yet the same calculated killing is acceptable just because they do not look like us; cannot speak; are not as advanced as us??? Or whatever other reason a hunter can think of.
I am a vegetarian not just because I am perfectly able to survive & live a fantastically exciting & healthy life without meat, fur, leather or bear bile but also because I have seen substantial proof that animals bred for slaughter cannot even be given a fair life or quick death. It's so unbelievably obvious that Man has misused it's power-we are not living in the stone age anymore. We are so much more able to have a good life without all this cruelty. It's sheer lack of empathy, it's laziness & the excuse of money which stops us from realizing that we were meant to preserve nature- not wipe it out or make a show of it.
Therefore, I would just like to express how I honestly feel about anyone who kills for 'the thrill'.
There are people who stand on ants.
There are people who step over them.
There are people who stamp on them 'for the thrill'.
The first is ignorance;
The second is love;
The latter is evil.
There will always be all of the above.
Therefore, we will always be at war.

I view trophy hunters as cold-blooded killers.
That is all.

As savage and barbaric as this is, it pales in comparison to the murder of millions of innocent animals every single day in the slaughterhouses.
How many are tearing up reading this article as they eat their sausage and bacon, their chicken salad and hamburgers. Yes indeed, Mr. Brasch, what is it they do not understand about 'thou shall not kill?'

"As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields."
