The subject of teh story, Doug Wight, was stopped for some reason in December, which I believe was becuase the police had a description of his truck. That said, for me, it's stories like this that most accurately describe the character of this country ... and it aint a very good character, as my nearly 60 years of experience confirm. Then again, what more can be expected from a meanhearted, self-righteous outfit founded on annihilation of American Indians? How great (different from powerful and mean) can a country be when it has a history of major slaughters of Mexicans, South and Central Americans in general, Filipinos, Vietnamese, Iraqis, Afghanis, etc? Or one that never batted an eye as it turned over its space program to one of Hitler's scientists? Rah, rah, rah! Good people of America, if you would please tear your eyes away from your television screen, and cease watching Survivor 934 long enough to take a look around you - you will slowly find out that your complacency has lead you right into a facist state. At midnight in a flaming angry town I saw my country’s flag lying torn upon the ground I ran in and dodged among the crowd And scooped it up to safety And then I took this striped old piece of cloth And tried my best to wash the garbage off But I found it had been used for wrapping lies It smelled and stank and attracted all the flies. Perhaps we can organize to burn flags outside EVERY RECRUITMENT STATION and so attempt to deprive the military services the cannon fodder they need to pursue unending war?
