I’m sorry jaime, but no fibbing please. DV does specialise in peace and social justice, quite the antithesis, as the whole world knows, of the policies of the Israeli regime and its cacophonous supporters, your good self a prime example. Criticism of Israel’s crimes against humanity, its relentless racist cruelty to the imprisoned Palestinians, its use of mass torture for decades to intimidate, humilate and demoralise their victims, whether Palestinian or Lebanese, and its unparalleled hypocrisy in denying all these crimes, does not equate to hatred of Israel, or Israelis as a whole or Jews. Hatred of evil is a moral imperative, but in Israel the evil is by no means universal. Many Israelis well recognise what a detestable regime they live under and what infamous policies it follows. One obviously beneficial aspect of Israeli life is the freedom accorded its citizens, greater for Jews than non-Jews to be sure, but amongst the primitive despotisms installed and maintained by the US in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and Iraq, a shining example. That the voices of Israeli moderation and decency have proved almost totally ineffectual in reducing Israeli criminality is regrettable, but one lives in hope. Criticism of Israel is in exactly the same vein as was criticism of apartheid South Africa, Israel’s lost love and close ally. The regime and its policies are the object of criticism, and that part of the population that supports the infamous conduct. The only ones that need fear for their future are the criminals, and many Israeli criminals can no longer travel freely abroad for fear of legal retribution, and a good thing too. Unfortunately the criminals of apartheid were allowed to escape just punishment, an example of the unfailing rule that monsters who obeyed instructions from Washington shall go free, but all others are to be hounded, even to the extent of being murdered as was Milosevic, when his show trial started going awry. Israel needs only to cease acting as a neo-fascist, racist and belligerent terror state, and I for one, dearest jaime, will sing the praises of the Chosen People and their Holy State as strongly as anyone.

A useful piece of information to those opposing the Zionist movement and interpreting jaime and his like: A tradition has developed within Ashkenazi culture to employ violence (verbal and sometimes physical) in disputation; it is intended to imply vigilance and devotion to the defense of the subject (e.g., in combating Maimonides’ application of reason and science in interpreting reality). It’s repulsive to me, but within their circles I guess it’s not only acceptable but a sign of piety. Strange!

Ralph, I’ve been trying to help jaime better do his role with critical thought for months now. I figured that were he to understand it enough to abuse it more convincingly, then maybe he wouldn’t end up as evil as dershowitz…cognitive dissonance when it comes to something as blatantly plain as the wrongdoings of Zionism should be easy to overcome if you sink yourself into critically looking at it. Another commonly employed tactic by Israel Lobby trolls is to attack the “credibility” of sources. Since the people who troll for GIYUS.Org and other Zionist groups are often not the brightest or best informed souls, they are usually given a short list of rhetorical tactics that can be employed to attempt to discredit an argument even when one lack the knowledge or the ability to construct an actual argument against it. Jaime’s tactic here–making fun of the name of the source as a means of casting doubt on its credibility–is typical of what Israel Lobby trolls often try to do. Note that Jaime’s remarks don’t in any way discredit the statement in question or undermine its truth value; they only serve to cast just enough doubt on it so as to possibly confuse other readers, and perhaps to discredit it with less critical readers. That is its purpose, to undermine the credibility of an argument without actually refuting it. The late Senator Joseph McCarthy was a master of such diversionary techniques. Jaime is no Joe McCarthy, however; his tactics are too transparent and lack effectiveness.

It’s just one of my little ways of pointing out that your sources here aren’t very credible, and are usually faulty as well as unusually biased.

One would think that this was a forum that specialized in hatred of Israel, but in the name of peace and social justice.

All you nice people seem to want to do, is pile invective on top of lies. Do you think that is going to free the Palestinian people?

No it won’t. It just entrenches the separation and siege mentality on both sides.

WE THE PEOPLE is an marginal choice of sources to be sure.

Not exactly a political think -tank or known to specialize in Middle Eastern Affairs, WE THE PEOPLE is basically a US tax-protest movement.

In a case involving Richard Michael Simkanin, a tax protester who supported the Foundation and who is currently serving a prison sentence for Federal tax offenses, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has stated that the We the People Foundation (”WTP”):

promotes the view that, despite common misconceptions, there is actually no law that requires most Americans to pay income taxes or most companies to withhold taxes from employees’ paychecks.

We the People Foundation organization argued unsuccessfully that, based on the First Amendment right of the people to petition the government for a redress of grievances, the government should have a duty to respond to a taxpayer’s demand for an explanation as to why taxpayers are subject to income tax.

On May 8, 2007, the argument was rejected by the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in We the People Foundation, Inc. v. United States
