The critique on Joshua Frank article has to do with his "War For Oil" perspectives. A narrative that has been promoted by the left to deflect any analyzes of the role Zionism played in the destruction of Iraq which in turn benefits Israel hegemony as discussed by Petras. This cowardice on the left to fail to openly deal with Zionism is a major reason why there is NO anti-war movement and any real resistance to the War. The left would rather see more Middle East destruction than expose Zionism and its racist structures and its influence on U.S culture, politics, economy. Only when the left have the courage to deal with ALL FORMS OF RACISM can there be the kind of solidarity to foment the kinds of progressive changes it claim to advocate.
