Daniel -

If I lead a small group of thugs to your house, take it and all of your money and possessions, and toss you into the street with nothing... how long will it take you to get back on your feet? What if I do the same thing to all of your relatives and friends? What if I try to see to it that local people will not give you a job, or lend you any money, or help you in any meaningful way? What if you have nowhere else to go and couldn't afford to go there, even if someone, somewhere offered to help?

This is what Katrina did to tens of thousands of already poor, disenfranchised people, many of whom are still homeless - living in tents or in homeless shelters or... wherever they can settle down for the night. For them, Sir, Katrina is a living, breathing reality, it is - now! - and it won't go away.

If the extreme poverty, helplessness, homelessness and wretchedness of many thousands of honest and innocent people equates, in your eyes, to "a diversion," you might wish to pause and reevaluate your view of the world, for it is frighteningly superficial.

Interesting all this debate about something that happened in the past.

As Big Brother George leads his country towards a militaristic world takeover I would've thought there were more important and immediate issues to be discussed. Perhaps Katrina is a diversion.

Cheers.
